Program Refresh and New Direction
More than thirty years have passed since the inception of the George W Banks Scholarship Foundation (originally named Banks, Gregory, Powell Scholarship Foundation). Members agreed to change the name to its current name in 2010. Recognizing the need for growth and adaptation, the Foundation has refreshed its program. A new look and updated award selection process has been initiated. The Foundation has shifted from a "Pay to Receive" scholarship structure to a merit-based awards model. This change is designed to recognize and reward achievement and commitment, rather than eligibility tied to donation timing.
